Karen and her friend were talking about their home based internet businesses. Karen is thinking about hiring a Virtual Assistant. She wants to do this because there are tasks that she just doesn’t enjoy doing and she loves the idea of giving those tasks to somebody else. Also, it will free up her time to really focus ON her business and let someone else work IN her business.
“I know that I should be building relationships and building backlinks but I don’t have time to go find and comment on all those forums and blog posts”, said Karen.
Karen needs a little guidance on how to get those tasks done in a way that doesn’t create a disconnect with her potential clients.
One of the best uses of a Virtual Assistant (VA) is to have them help you to build your relationship with your ideal clients in forums and blog posts.
Here’s how:
Have your VA search for forums and blogs in your niche, then find the forum threads and posts that best suit your ideal clients (where your peeps would be hanging out). Have your VA send those links to you daily, for you to comment on.
This process serves in two ways.
It allows you to connect with the people out in cyber space, using your voice, as an influencer. You want to use your voice so that your peeps, your ideal clients, your tribe, can connect with the authentic you, your energetic self.
If you’re not using your voice to connect with the people, then they’re connecting energetically with the person that you have writing on your behalf. If they’re connecting with your writer then they’re not really your clients or customers, because they (the reader) did not make an energetic connection with you. Does that make sense?
The other reason you do this is to get backlinks to your site. The more backlinks you have linking in to your site, the more you appear to be an authority in Google’s eyes.
So every morning you would have an email from your VA that would have five – ten links to blog posts and forum threads for you to reply to.
Now I know that you’re thinking you don’t have time to write five – ten replies and that it would take two hours or more to get this done.
Here’s the shortcut:
- Open each one of those links in a new tab
- Open your voice recorder of choice
- Reply to each one of those forum threads in individual voice memos
- Send the files or the links to the recordings to your VA
- Have them take care of the rest for you
So your morning should look like this:
Open your email
Open your voice recorder
Reply, reply, reply, reply, reply,
copy paste link, copy paste link, copy paste link, copy paste link, copy paste link,
send off to your VA to complete the process
Tips:
- To open a link in a new tab hold the command or the control button down while you click on the link.
- Using a voice recorder is not that hard, your Mac comes with one and your PC has options as well.
Once your system is set up, you should be able to knock this out in less than 15 minutes every morning.

Great idea. And I love the shortcuts. Yes, I can do this! Thanks, Renee.
Thanks Renee! Your post makes this system so organized!
This is fantastic, Renee! I used to have a service company and hired technicians to do the work for my customers so I strongly believe in having help while I focused on the customer interactions and sales. However, I haven’t been able to figure out what to have a VA do because I knew I needed to use my voice on the comments. This approach of yours makes sense. Thanks!
